Deadlines:

September 8, 2008 : Deadline for students interested in applying for AAFS Student Affiliate membership to submit their AAFS applications along with the $25.00 application fee (checks made payable to AAFS) to the Forensic Science Program Office.

October 31, 2008 : Program Application deadline for Spring 2009 semester


2008/2009 Meetings:

18TH IAFS TRIENNIAL MEETING

The 18th triennial meeting of the International Association of Forensic Sciences will be held July 21-25, 2008 in New Orleans, LA. Nicole Ledbetter, a graduate student in the UNT Chemistry Department, will be attending and presenting her abstract Nanomanipulation Coupled to Nanospray Mass Spectrometry: Applications to Direct Cell Probing and Trace Fiber Analysis.


SOUTHWESTERN ASSOCIATION OF FORENSIC SCIENTISTS
2008 ANNUAL MEETING

The SWAFS 2008 annual meeting will be held September 22-26, 2008 in Little Rock, AR. Dr. Golden, the Director of the UNT Forensic Science Program, will be attending and presenting some abstracts.

9TH ANNUAL TARRANT COUNTY MEDICAL EXAMINER'S CONFERENCE

The 9th Annual "Current Trends in Forensic Science" will be held December 17-19, 2008 at 200 Feliks Gwozdz Place in Fort Worth, TX 76104. A variety of exciting topics will be covered, including The Medical Examiner, Human Identification, Prosecution, A Look at Forensic Disciplines, and Mass Fatalities. Dr. Golden, the Director of the UNT Forensic Science Program, will be attending and presenting some abstracts.

AMERICAN ACADEMY OF FORENSIC SCIENCES (AAFS)
61st ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC MEETING

The AAFS annual meeting will be held February 16-21, 2009 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Golden, the Director of the UNT Forensic Science Program, will be attending and presenting some abstracts.
