* The 1st International ICST Conference on Digital Forensics and Cyber Crime is taking place in Albany, NY this year from September 30 - October 2, 2009. Click here for more information.
* Congratulations to Sherry Bethune, the winner of the 2009 undergraduate award in analytical chemistry from the ACS Division of Analytical Chemistry!
* The UNT Forensic Science Program and Forensic Science Club sponsored a CSI Family Day at the 6th Floor Museum at the Dealey Plaza on Sunday, March 15, 2009. The event had a great turnout from the community! Check back for news of the 2010 event.
* Two of our program students, Nicole Wallace and Maureen Nduta, were awarded travel scholarships to the 2009 American Academy of Forensic Sciences annual conference, held in Denver, CO during the week of February 16 - 21, 2009!
* Congratulations to new program member Julia Liken for winning the 2009-2010 FOCUS Scholarship!

2009 ANNUAL MEETING
The SWAFS 2009 annual meeting will be held October 17th-21st, 2009 in Orlando, FL. Dr. Golden, the Director of the UNT Forensic Science Program and an Associate Professor in UNT's Chemistry Department, will attend and present the poster Quantitative Analysis of Document Images from Electrostatic Detection. Ubisha Joshi, a graduate student in UNT's Chemistry Department, will also attend and present her poster Nanomanipulation Coupled to Nanospray Mass Spectrometry Applied to Document and Ink Analysis.

The 65th meeting of the Regional American Chemical Society will be held November 4th-7th, 2009 in El Paso, TX. Dr. Guido Verbeck, in the UNT Chemistry Department, will be the keynote speaker for the Forensic section of the meeting. Dr. Teresa Golden, UNT Chemistry, will present a talk on Nanomanipulation Coupled to Nanospray Mass Spectrometry Applied to Document and Ink Ananlysis.
